Resort Wear Edition: Effortless Vacation Style
Resort wear is a fun time to experiment with color, fabrics, and different cuts. It should feel effortless yet comfortable, and vibrant yet relaxed. Whether you’re headed to the Caribbean, Mexico, or a luxury coastal escape, the best resort outfits move seamlessly from daytime sun to evening cocktails. Here’s how I am styling elevated resort wear that feels that is on trend without being overdone
Look 1: Poolside Polish
This is the ultimate getaway look perfect for lounging poolside, spending days at the beach club, swim and water activity days, and outdoor explorations. Style a one-piece swimsuit with a sculptural neckline with lightweight linen pants, slide sandals and an oversized straw tote with your favorite sunglasses to fit all of your essentials. This look is transitional and highly versatile while looking chic and feeling comfortable.
Tara’s Style Edit: A chic one-piece can double as a bodysuit, giving you more outfit mileage with fewer pieces in your suitcase.
Look 2: Day-to-Dinner Dress
We all love that type of dress that just works with everything for every occasion when on vacation. This ultimate one and done piece is ideal for sightseeing, lunches, sunset dinners, or shopping days. Look for fabrics that are breezy and hit at the knee or just below (midi length), and style it with flat leather sandals for comfort that looks polished, gold jewelry accents for warmth, and a woven clutch for the ultimate summery-chic vibes.
Tara’s Style Edit: Midi length is a great choice for all types of plans and activities because it allows for movement and comfort while still achieving a more formal take. Aim for a dress length that hits at or below the knee but above the ankle for the utmost ease of wear.
Look 3: Evening Resort Glam
These are my go to for those perfect resort dinners, cocktail bars, night event looks that never fail. I like to have fun with color and different trends when on vacation, especially for a night out, it’s a good opportunity to explore some different styles you have been wanting to test out. Look for a silk slip dress or matching silky two piece set in a bold hue like yellow, teal, coral, or turquoise and add strappy heels or elevated flat sandals and finish the look with statement earrings, a clutch and a lightweight wrap if you’re seaside.
